Greater Red Desert
Considered the next big site for coal bed methane development in Wyoming is the Red Desert, the largest potential BLM Wilderness area in the state. It is one of the finest high desert ecosystems in the nation supporting endangered wildlife including sage grouse, pronghorn antelope, pygmy rabbit and ferruginous hawk.
