EcoFlight is collaborating with the Rock Creek Alliance, NRDC, Earthworks and the Craighead Environmental Research Institute to protect the Cabinet Mountains, a small but starkly beautiful wilderness area in northern Montana and Idaho.  The Rock Creek Mine would be constructed adjacent to and underneath this wilderness area that provides key habitat for a number of threatened species, has extraordinary recreational opportunities and is the source for pure drinking water in the Pend Oreille Basin.  This mine would be a catastrophe for our country and a serious historical blunder. Never before has a mine been constructed in a federally designated wilderness area.  There is a deafening silence in congress for one of the country's first wilderness areas.
